Nairobi → Thika → Garissa area → Garsen → Witu → Hindi → Mokowe → Lamu

The final road destination is Mokowe Jetty, because Lamu Town itself is located on an island. From Mokowe, travelers cross the channel to Lamu Island by ferry, water taxi or speedboat. The crossing is relatively short, with the final transfer to Lamu Town generally taking around 10–20 minutes depending on the boat and conditions.
